According to Robert Langton, owner of Langton Salon in Toronto, moisture is the key to glossy, well-behaved locks. "Healthy hair has its own natural moisture," says Langton. "Things we do every day – from spending time in the sun and wind to daily styling – negates that moisture." The result? Slight to noticeable dryness, pesky frizzies and flyaways. And such effects could be worse, depending on your hair type. "Coarse, wavy, curly and supercurly hair need more moisture than fine, straight hair," says Langton. "Styling, which ranges from just brushing to using blow dryers, flatirons and curling irons, further robs hair of moisture."
